better days.

Sudan, Darfur: 29 Dead Thousands before, millions more if the world does not take action.

In the Hotzone Well worth the read to expand your knowledge.

It was time to move on to better days, on that day, to a place where the sun shines, to the return of our lives.

laughter.

Saudi Arabia and Exxon-Mobil: helping to fuel the hungry animals of today. 3 trillion barrels of oil have yet to be found and 3 trillion acres of land have yet to be destroyed. Apparently, Saudia Arabia can double the output of oil.
"My father rode a camel, I drive a car, my son will ride an airplane, and his son will ride a camel."

So I turned on the teletube today, saw Mr. Bush diverging from ugly ladies Katrina and Rita and converging upon the beautiful ladies of Iraq. Yet if they were crying for freedom so hard, why did a woman suicide bomber blow herself up today? Why do military recruiters have access to high school students' records throughout the United States?
"Son, can you imagine yourself as a helicopter pilot?" or, "Son, can you imagine yourself fighting a figurative enemy called 'terrorism'?" or, "Son, can you imagine yourself dead?"
And why does the government have the right to cut off access to the schools' funding if they refuse to give out that information? At least here, it's a softsell. Sounds like a Broadway play named 1984. We have so much to live for, too much to die for, and too much laughter to give.

Miles away.

Why is it that youth is so out of touch with society? Why are the kids turning to violent gang beatings for a rush, ectasy and crystal meth for a touch, rap music and bad role models just too much? It's because they're out of touch with you. Someone should always be looking over their shoulders to grab them from danger, to keep them from getting electrocuted, to save them from the modern surburbia. We spend our whole lives working. Why is work - and evidently money the most important thing? Why is it that we always want more money and with more money comes more material goods and with more material goods comes wanting more money? You'll never find satisfaction that way and you'll realize that some day. And that's the day you'll become missing and that's the day you'll go underground miles away.

I say, give me a loft downtown where you can see the people moving and the people talking and the people interacting and I say, give me a cabin upstream where you can see the trees changing and the river swirling and nature growing.

See You Fall

I see you fall, from the thrones of the king, from the pedestal of a hero, from the monument of a warrior. I see you fall, to the depths of the sea, to the depths of your heart, to the depths of your mind. I see you fall to yourself.

leave a light on.

Leave a light on even though the sun's shining. A miracle no one was hurt today, watching the bird fly down, with the sparks flying and a crumpled front leg. It's just like falling head over feet, absolute chaos. And yet, it's really not about the end result or the future. It's how you got there.

radiated.

Don't worry, you didn't blink.

Healthy in paranoid times.

You're somewhere out there. Just make sure the iceberg doesn't tip.

Canada, Hilary, and the Arctic vs. Bush

Would you think any different? Machine guns on the f-train.

I'd definitely date Aniston. Or at least try to be friends. Who in his right mind wouldn't, besides Mr. Pitt?

Love will save the day (version 2).

big city life.

Hometown had three houses broken into, in the same area and the same vincinity of time. And it's a small town. Time to keep that baseball bat handy - try kicking down a door with a baseball bat behind it ready to crap your leg out, you drug addict.

That's not something I'd expect of Mazda at all.

What does KDBF stand for? Who is Colin James? What would it be like to live in the big city again, except not in the semi-suburbs in a nice area with flowers and fountains, but in the center of the big city with a little apartment loft where you could experience the diversity of the crowd, with the intimacy of an individual? What if you watched the people passing by and yourself passing by and your life just caught in a moment? What if I was sedated by the hope, by the love, by the trust? What if I was tranquilized by the pills? It'd be called the big city life.

terry fox.

He's the role model, the sign of perserverance, the sign of continuance, the hope. $40 million this year, $360 million total. Not bad for a man with a dream to run across Canada in hopes for finding a cure for cancer. Not bad for a man who's surely smiling from above. Not bad for a man who will surely be smiling more from above when a cure is found.

Please give, if it only is for hope, for hard work, for faith, for belief, for trust, for love.

I wouldn't think less of this gem.

Love will save the day.

Time of Our Lives

Wow that was the time of our lives last night, a once in a lifetime experience. It was just a matter of pretty good luck (minus my sketchy digital camera situation) and timing and the stars aligning and the moon shining and the drinks flowing and the words flying and the actions laughing and the energy intensifying and the mind shocking after the thought of it all.

Got there at and got our tickets, heard some music flowing so we decided to check it out. And it was soundcheck! Got a couple good pics with the digital camera, and decided we'd come back after I got a memory card. Apparently, the memory card didn't work but I thought it's all cool, I still have eleven more pics. Then I saw my batteries were dying so ran to the gas station and bought some more. Put them in and thought all was good. Then when the concert started I didn't even take one picture because those batteries died! Lucky we had a disposable camera, plus I ran (coincidentally) into another buddy of mine and he had a digital camera so hopefully I'll be able to grift those photos off of him. However, we did get some deadly ones with a few members...

t-minus 1.

Guns, Smith, and Wilkins.

Then who would we blame? After all, can't you just go up to any flea market in the States and purchase a 9MM Beretta? If you can't, tell me I'm wrong.

What's with the ectasy labs these days? What's with all the ectasy users these days? Are drugs a really great way to escape? Cause if they are, you might as well just take your current brain size, substitute a pea for your brain, and burn the pea. And that will be the end result of doing drugs like ectasy.

proud to be canadian.

Justice is served.

no one's coming through.

So I got my signed OLP - Healthy In Paranoid Times CD today. It's pretty sweet. The one reason for the small booklet, semi-elligible writing credits? The cost of manufacturing the curved plastic CD case and the surface of the back page of the booklet. David Usher tickets were also purchased yesterday. It's going to be sketchy trying to find a hotel - but there's always that sleeping bag, that cardboard box, that ditch.

Surely that is what alcoholics need: a drug to take them off a drug. Focusin and ritalin make a potent combination. Heroin and crackolin make death.

Burns Bog - an ironic name for the smoke floating above Vancouver. Breathe easy.

alibi.

so i turned on the teletube today
watched some six o'clock news
saw that a thirteen year old girl had overdosed on ectasy
probably laced with crystal meth
first time doing drugs
last time living
then i saw the environmental disaster in new orleans
the oil floating everywhere
fires burning on water
if cuba can evacuate 2.5 million people with nearly none a casualty
which is half of their population
if cuba is a communist country
if democracy is free
why can't the united states evacuate one city with nearly none a casualty?

it's not so far from me to you.

Safeway has the best deal going on right now. 8 pieces of chicken, 4 buns, and two side-dishes all for the sweet price of $9.99. They're practically giving away the food for that price - and plus the girl gave me an extra piece of chicken. Sweeet. .

Loaded up on groceries. Donuts, bananas, pork chops, pizza, yogurt, cereal, popcorn, just to name a few items. I didn't have a quarter so I had to take two baskets full of food and balance them and carry them to the till and I was afraid I was going to break the eggs and spill everything everywhere; I actually did break one egg. However, the fridge is full.

I thought I would be nostalgic today, but I wasn't. Though I do kinda miss school. It's funny how new people just keep on popping up at the office. New faces for old minds. At least I got some good advice on skis and boards.

It's not so far from me to you. What's funny is that when you have the money and you want to hit up some concerts, you can't: OLP, David Usher @ Vancouver, Matt Good, Jimmy Eat World, just to name a few. And when you can hit up some concerts, you don't have the money. It always works out that way!

the war's a wound.

chillaxing with a granville island, reading about the chaos, wondering about the rage, contemplating the end of the world, remembering that I'm just a little thing after all, thinking that the war holds no grudges, realizing that the war's a wound.

you're gonna stand up on your own.

who's watching out for niger? who's watching out for sudan? who's watching out for the people of china? who's watching out for the people of north korea, south korea? who's watching out for the women of afghanistan? who's watching out for the children of iraq? me and you we're going to make it right, we'll try to make it right, we'll try our best.

who's watching the damage done by katrina? a lot more people than those watching the previous. don't worry, one day we're gonna stand up on our own.
